• absorption of large amounts of oil substances from water surfaces or solid surfaces

Procedure for dealing with an oil spill:

1. Place the material with the absorbent side on the oil stain and let it work. The liquid is quickly absorbed into the fabric until the absorption capacity is fully saturated (the fabric turns a continuous dark color).
    
2. Regenerate the saturated absorbents. Remove the saturated absorbents from the surface, fold, and squeeze. Regenerating by squeezing will: - minimize the amount of sorbents used - separate the absorbed liquid
    
3. Replace if completely saturated. Remove the used absorbents and store them in the prepared hazardous waste container.
