Procedure for Oil Spill Prevention:

1. choose the appropriate size and shape of the carpet, or cut to the required length and shape
2. place the material on the liquid surface and let it absorb. the liquid quickly soaks into the fabric until fully saturated (indicated by uniform darkening of the fabric)
3. regenerate the saturated carpet by removing it from the liquid, folding, and wringing out. regeneration by wringing helps minimize the quantity of sorbents used and separates the captured liquid
4. remove the used carpet and store it in a prepared container for hazardous materials
